About Us The Club was initially set up in January 2001 by Adam and Andrew as Maccjap. Originally we were just a Honda club, but after 1 week we decided to include all Japanese cars. Since then we have grown and grown to become one of the biggest free Japanese car clubs in Britain. In 2004 Andrew got married and due to other commitments no longer had the time to put into JapUK that it needed, rather than let it die Adam and a few other members wanted to keep the idea alive. However having seen the club grow from strength to strength we saw that the clubs main member base was North Wales and the Northwest of England. Consequently the decision was taken to just focus on this area and seeing as the domain name renewal was on horizon we decided to use a new name to show our focus, and so JapNorthWest was born. Why do we do this? Well, the answer is simple. We enjoy it! The club brings together people from all areas, ages, and backgrounds that all have one thing in common - they are Japanese car fans. From standard 1.4 Civics to wildly modified Skylines and Supras, the club really caters for all tastes. What are the members like? Well, the members are a great bunch. At our events and club meets, everyone seems interested in all aspects of Japanese cars rather than being brand specific. People enjoy membership because you can expect to meet a variety of different people. WE all take an interest in who has done what to their motor and it is also a great resource for opinions and help on all aspects of Japanese cars. How Active is JapUK? We have a monthly meeting every 2nd monday of the month at the Mascrat Manor. This is a pub located just off the roundabout on the southbound side of the M6 Junction 21. Meetings start at about 7:30 – 8:00 PM and go on to about 10pm. We also have a message board found at www.japnorthwest.net This is where you can post pictures of your pride and joy (500 pixel wide max please) and talk about jap cars, be it looking for advice or just a general chit chat.
